IPl - Face HairReduction

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. To get a more accurate treatment a small hand piece is used to pass light energy to certain areas of the body. IPL is not the same to laser although it is similar. Laser only produces one light energy wavelength whereas IPL uses a white light which contains all wavelengths visible from red to blue.
An IPL machine produces a sudden burst of light which is passed down fibreoptic tubes into the hand piece. The therapist will apply a cooling gel to the area being treated to help the therapist glide the hand piece along the skin giving better contact for good light conduction to the dermis and epidermis. The hand piece is then placed on the area of skin which is to be treated.
The procedure can be a little uncomfortable, with a slight tingling or heat sensation. Treatments can be repeated every 4-6 weeks over a course of 4-10 treatments depending on the area being treated and the individual client.
